Film Flashback:To Grandmother’s House We Go (1992)
I’ve decided to undertake an ambitious project where I’ll recap and review all the films Mary-Kate and Ashley have done over the years, in chronological order. I’ll probably get to one or two films a week until I’m all updated!
So, first on the list is To Grandmother’s House We Go.

Recap:
In this film, Mary-Kate and Ashley play twins Julie and Sarah Thompson, who think their mother is sick of them. They decide to head to Grandma’s house, even though they aren’t allowed to cross the street by themselves! This holiday themed film results in Julie and Sarah getting caught up with two bad guys (played by Rhea Pearlman and Jerry Van Dyke) who claim to be Santa’s elves! A ransom demand, a lucky lottery ticket, and Santa and his reindeer all get involved in this mad-cap adventure.
My take:
This is an adorable and funny holiday film perfect for anyone who loved Mary-Kate and Ashley as Michelle in the early seasons of Full House. It’s pretty cutesy and cheesy, but so were the girls back then! It makes a great kid’s holiday classic, even if you aren’t a hard-core Olsen twins fan. Mary-Kate and Ashley’s first film is essential to any Olsen collection (of course, I’m going to say that about all their films!)
